As believers we all have our identities in God. Something must identify us with where we belong. Your identity in Christ is a function of your new birth.
Believers identity in Christ is not based on economic, education or social status but our relationship with God. We do not allow narratives from situations, conditions to define who we are.
Our identity can only be revealed by the word of God. We only accept what God says about who we are. The bible is the only authentic source that can reveal our identity in God. Knowing your identity in Christ is excercising Godliness
Your identity in Christ is just as important as you would want to live in freedom on earth. If your identity in Christ is not up exposed to you, then you are in total bondage. You remain a captive till the day you discover who you are in Christ Jesus.
Your Identity In Christ – Know who You Are In Christ
Who are you? Identity yourself. Your ability to define your identity proves your worth, it places you on a level of dominion and authority. It empowers your freedom.
In identifying yourself you have to trace your root. Who born you? Where are you from? Who do you resemble? We are here to answer all these questions and many more, to be able to identify who you are in God.
#1. You Are A New Creation
You are a new creation if you are born again.
what is New Creation
New creation means everything about your old self has been changed. There’s no single identity of the old person before you got born again. This change covers everything that has to do with you, spirit, soul and body.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 2 Corinthians 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 2 Corinthians 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
Once you have accepted Jesus as your lord and savior, you are granted access into the God class. You have been accepted into the family of God. You are now an heir of God, you become a child of God and God is now your father.
St. John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
This has many packages to unfold in your life, there are many interpretations to this because you cao be a child of God and not resemble your father. As a believer, you must crave to live like God.
#2. You Have A New Heart
Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you app heart of flesh.
Once you are born of God, your heart is changed, you now have a new heart which is made after God, not a Stony heart hardened with cruelty. You are now able to have compassion, you own up and be responsible for your actions.
This is a heart that develops the love of God. God lives in your heart as his son and comes into you with his strength, glory and majesty.
As a child of God you occupy a special place in God’s heart, you have the nature of God, his spirit, his love, his faith and more so you are the righteousness of God in Christ. All of these are your identity in Christ.
Ephesians 2:4 But God, who is rich inmercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Ephesians 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Ephesians 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus: Ephesians 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
By virtue of your new birth in Christ you are now sitted with God far above all principalities and powers, far above all situations in life. Your life is hid with Christ in God. You are more than a conqueror.
As a new creation, you are a child of God and your new identity is in Christ Jesus, this is your root, this is where you come from, this is your geneology well defined. This is your identity in Christ. To build yourself spiritually, you must be conscious of your identity in Christ.
This knowledge gives you the authority to reject anything short of this identity. Anything that doesn’t depict where you come from, your root, should never be tolerated and should be evicted with immediate effect.
You have become one with Christ. What you lost in Adam in the beginning, you have regained with Christ. You are now restored to your former place of authority and dominion, your identity in Christ.
By virtue of your new class of being, you are now in control of any life situation. You are now as invincible and indestructible as God. This is your identity in Christ, this is who you are in Christ Jesus.
#3. You Are Translated
At new birth you were translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of Jesus. You are in a new kingdom. Satan doesn’t have access to this kingdom anymore since he was evicted. Your translation defines your identity in Christ.
Therefore Satan can no more have any form of dominion over you. Anyone in the kingdom Of God is far more superior to Satan and all his demons.
Satan can never measure up to your authority, dominion, power. Satan and his entire demons are under your feet, you determine what happens to them. Ignorance of these facts has kept many believers down, God is taking them up again today in Jesus name.

I am sure you are discovering your identity in Christ Jesus. Knowledge of who you are in Christ is the sure way to your freedom.
Befor you got born again and translated to the kingdom of God, you were in the kingdom of darkness.
In the kingdom of darkness there are all forms of evil, sicknesses, affliction, embarrassment, turment, bad luck, name them. Inhabitants of that kingdom cannot have peace. They live in fear always.
Satan runs the government of that kingdom, he is the ruler in that government of no mercy, why should you belong there when Jesus had made provision for your freedom.
Romans 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness? Romans 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Those in the kingdom of darkness are the ones that yield themselves to Satan to lord over. They can’t complain because even their will has been taken by their master.
But you that is born of God has no part in what is happening there because you belong to the kingdom of heaven, you are of God. Please take some good time to digest your identity in Christ Jesus, know who you are in Christ so you can be free.
If you are born of God and has been translated, you have to be aware that you have been translated. You have to know that you are no more in the kingdom of darkness.
Jesus might have set you free, but lack of that awareness can still keep you in bondage.
#4. You Are Perculiar
Everyone born of God is a Perculiar treasure. You are not common, you were bought with a price – the precious blood of the lamb. You belong to royalty. This is your identity in Christ.
You are Perculiar, completely different, you are to be envied.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: 1 Peter 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
You are a sign and a wonder, fashioned in God’s holiness to show forth the glory of God in the earth. The inability to see yourself in this perspective is the reason why many will live and die like mere men.
You need to know your identity in Christ. Sickness, poverty, disappointment, frustrations should see you and run if you truly understand your identity in Christ.
#5. You Are Above All
St. John 3:31 He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
By reason of your new creation status, you are not of the earth, you are a citizen of heaven. You are from above because you were translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light. This is another one of your identity in Christ.
You are above all circumstances and conditions in earth, you are above sickness, frustrations, disappointment, depression, barrenness, miscarriage, rejection and whatever form of life’s threat.
Knowledge of your identity in Christ, knowing who you are in God will encourage you to live like God.
#6. You Are A Winner
As s son of God you are a god. Your father has a victory mentality, so are you. God is always a winner, you are not entitled to fail. God cannot fail, you cannot fail too.
Psalms 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
You have God’s nature which is contrary to defeat and failure. You are made after God’s kind. You are destined to win. You are in the class of God, you are a god. Winning becomes your identity in Christ after new birth.
You can have as many victories as the battles you are engaged in as long as you abide in God. Knowledge Of your identity in Christ wi
God will always fight for you, he is out against anyone to that is against you.
Psalms 106:7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea. Psalms 106:8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. Psalms 106:9 He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. Psalms 106:10 And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. Psalms 106:11 And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left.
All your battles are the lord’s, he is your defense. God fights both physical and spiritual battles for you. This is part of the covenant he has with you as his child. Your identity in Christ helps you to develop a winning mentality
Zechariah 2:8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye. Zechariah 2:9 For, behold, I will shake mine hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me. Zechariah 2:10 Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for, lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
#7. Ye are gods
Satan will never want you to discover this truth because it’s your winning card. It’s a foundation that you easily triumph on. The understanding of it will automatically set you free.
This is the fundamental biblical truth that will give you boldness and strength to confront any situation in life.
Lack of revelation on this scripture is one of the causes of great affliction.
Psalms 82:6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
This is the dominion scripture of the saints. This scripture will be a turning point in your life if only you can digest it to its full understanding, make it a part of your life.
There’s a strong anointing on the revelation of this scripture that will give you dominion and authority over all satanic forces.
This scripture forms the basis for the supernatural, it puts you in the class of God. This is a mystery that you need to understand and be free forever.
You are a son of God, nothing stops you from being a god. This is your identity in Christ. An eagle will always give birth to an eagle, man gives birth to another man, God cannot give birth to a man, it must be a God. This is the reality of your identity in Christ.
