The secret things belongs to God, and only those that are revealed belongs to us. The subject of revelation is one of the most important topic in the bible, therefor the meaning of revelation in the bible must be treated or discussed in depth. A lot of Christians, even believers do not understand the meaning of revelation, hence they are far from the experience.
Deuteronomy 29:29
29 The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.
This means only things that are revealed to you are made available. Whatever is not revealed to you is hidden from you. Whatsoever is hidden from you cannot be for you, you cannot just access it; it is not yours until you are able to access it by revelation, be it financial freedom, healing, wisdom, favor, grace. You are not bold, successful, and victorious, you are not just free because you do not have adequate revealed knowledge on those areas that require your freedom.
You need to understand that the words of God are not those letters you see on the pages of your bible. The word of God is a spirit, a person. Jesus said;
John 6:63
63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
The word of God is a spirit and must be revealed. If the word of God is not revealed, it is not from God, that one is from your mind. It is called head knowledge or Christian Religious Knowledge. If you try to understand those letters on the pages of your bible, what you would be getting is head knowledge, never the word of God.
The ability to access the hidden knowledge of the subject matter, the understanding of every hidden facts behind it is revelation.
The word of God must be revealed and the only one that has that mandate is the Holy Spirit, not your teacher, not your pastor, not even by angel. There were angels on earth when God had to send The Holy Spirit to come.
This is one area that believers are not just doing well in. We pray a lot, yes, prayer is good, but can never take the place of the knowledge you suppose to acquire for your freedom.
Prayer is supposed to instigate you, spur you up or enhance your capacity to acquire the revelation knowledge. Prayer is to sharpen your ability to receive revelation.
Believe me, until the rate you acquire revelation knowledge is far more than the rate you pray, your freedom is never in view. There are people who do not pray as much as you do but has attained their freedom because they spend 80% of their time searching for that revealed knowledge that they need to go far in life.

According to the bible there are many names for wisdom light, revelation, spiritual understanding? All these words refers to, or describes the knowledge you have in the word of God
col.:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
It might shock you to see that those letters you see cannot deliver the knowledge of who God is, but the spiritual understanding of those letters.
Importance of Revelation
The power of revelation can never be overemphasized. This is the foundation of christianity. Without revelation, you are already a failure as a christian.
Colossians 1:10
That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
It is the amazing benefits of spiritual understanding of God’s word that makes you worthy of God unto all pleasing; as you have this spiritual understanding, it makes God happy, it makes you fruitful.
This means spiritual understanding of the word of God has a lot to do with answered prayers because you are fruitful even in your prayers and you are praying with your spiritual understanding.
You need spiritual understand to be able to offer prayers that can receive answers. God is spirit, you can’t pray in the flesh and expect answers from the spirit. The flesh and the spirit are opposite entities, they fight one another, they do not agree, and can never agree.
This is why the bible says the flesh profits nothing, because it has zero spiritual profit, and it is the spirit that has life, and sustains the body; without the spirit, the body is gone, but the spirit can do without the flesh, without the flesh, the spirit lives on.
- Spiritual understanding also give you strength. The word of God is the power of God. Jesus says the word that I speak to you, they are spirit and they are life. The word of God is a person, spirit, hence the source of the fruits of the spirit; – love, joy, peace, longsuffering. Spiritual understanding also delivers the inheritance of the servant to you.
Colossians.3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
when the bible says let the words of God dwell in you richly, it does not means the letters, note that it says… richly in all wisdom. The wisdom here means spiritual understanding. This is the same thing as saying let the spiritual understanding or light or revelation of God’s word dwell in you richly.
It very much biblical that without revelation knowledge, you cannot grow spiritually, and if you do not discover how to grow your spirit man, it becomes difficult to receive anything from God.
col.3:9 lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
Without thorough understanding of the meaning of revelation in the bible and practically living in its reality, it is impossible to discover how to win invisible battles.
