Carnal is taken from the Spanish word “carne,” which means meat; therefore, carnal means to set your mind on the things of the flesh. As a Christian, the consequences of being fleshly-minded are quite negative and should be avoided if you want success in your journey towards your destiny. This is the major reason for trying to discover what carnal means.

As Christians, we have to learn how to live like God. Once you are born of God, you are a child of God. You have to be able to control your emotions as a believer.

What Does Carnal Mean in The Bible?

To be carnal means to be too sensitive to be flesh, to be fleshly-minded, to be led by the dictates of the flesh. It also means to be too emotional. It means you are more inclined towards the way you feel than what the Bible says. You are carnal when you are too prone to the dictates of the flesh, when you have not yet died to the flesh. Carnality is the opposite of being spiritual.

Philippians 3:3

Characteristics of carnality

A carnal man will never be sensitive to the things of the spirit. When you are not streamlining your lifestyle to what the word of God recommend, it means you are not sensitive to the things of the spirit and thereby you are carnal.

What is carnally minded

Carnally-minded means to always think of things of the flesh. What does canal mean when it has to do with your mind?? When you are thinking or always judging based on your feelings and not based on the word of God, you are being canal, you are not spiritually minded.

signs of carnality

A sign of carnality is gluttony. sleeping too much, laziness, or when someone complains too much. When you are given to hatred, anger, jealousy, backbiting, adultery, fornication, or when someone hates Bible study or prayer,.

When someone always refuses to fast and pray and instead thinks of the food he is supposed to eat,. When someone cannot stay without food for two hours.

In Genesis 9:20-24 Noah got drunk with wine,

A carnalal man is a man given to the things of the flesh, a man who, if fleshly-minded, acts according to the dictates of the flesh. A man who refuses to practice the word of God. The word of God is spirit; if you work according to the dictates of the word of God, you are being guided by the spirit of God.

A man hat lives by his feelings, his emotions is a carnal man. God instruct us not to live by our feelings. Your feelings will always go contrary to the bible. Most of your feelings are negative, meaning, they will make you do the wrong thing. i can feel like sleeping with a woman who is not my wife but i refuse to go by that, because that is contrary to God’s mindset.

A man who is unfaithful to God is a carnal man. People do wrong, not because they do not know about the right thing to do, but because they just make up their minds to disobey God and go with the devil.

Even when you spend too much time with things that do not edify you, you are building up canality in your mind. Some christians can spend five hours on social media, chatting, listening to music or watching movies that do not build their spirit

What does carnal love mean?

Carnal love is love that is not from the heart, not real, in fact it is lust. It is an emotion and comes from feelings. If you have a feeling for someones wife, that’s a carnal love, fornication is also another carnal love. There are people that love to kill. Carnal love does not have any genuine interest. It is borne out of selfishness or personal interest.

What is the difference between spiritual and carnal

To be spiritual is to go by God’s standard, it is to follow God’s recommendation according to the bible. It is to follow biblical standard. To be spiritual is to develop the mindset of God, it is to think like God, to do it the way God would do it. To be spiritual is to be truly born of God, it is to work with God and taste the supernatural, to follow God’s guidance, to develop the true nature of God.

Carnal is to go by the flesh, the emotions, the feelings. You feel like fighting, you fight, you feel like slapping your wife, you slap her, yo feel like smoking, you smoke. The major difference here is that God does not love when you have impressed him, when he feels like loving you. The day you hurt, he hates. The day you impress, he loves.

The bible says; when we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. When we were still enemies of God, that was when God died to save us.

The same should be applicable to man. You should not love your wife only when you feel like, when she has impress you.
