The right question is who is the word of God? Because the word of God is a person. Who is the word? Is the same question with “who is God? Who is Jesus?
According to the bible there are many names for wisdom light, revelation, spiritual understanding, and knowledge of God
Colossians. 1:9
For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
The knowledge of the will of God is the knowledge of the word of God and it is the knowing of who God is.
The knowledge of the word of God is the wisdom of God and it is the spiritual understanding of who God is because the knowledge of who God is must be acquired spiritually, meaning spirit must be the one to reveal it.
If it is not being revealed by spirit, it is never the knowledge of God because God is spirit and does not operate with the mind of the flesh. The spirit has its own way of thought very different from the thought pattern of the flesh.
Therefore, whether you say wisdom of God, knowledge of God, spiritual understanding, the word of God, you are saying the same thing because they all mean the same thing. The word of God is the wisdom of God, the word of God is the power of God, the word of God is Jesus, and the word of God is God Himself.
It might shock you to discover that the word of God is never those letters on the pages of the bible but the spiritual understanding of those letters. The word of God is spirit and cannot be seen, it can only be revealed.
It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Jesus confirms the word of God is spirit and life. This means the word of God is a person, and who is this person?
The knowledge of those letters on the pages of the bible is never the knowledge of God nor his word. The knowledge of God is the spiritual understanding of the letters. Col. 1:10.
The Only Thing that can Please God
You can never please God without being filled with the knowledge of His will.
The Word Of God – The only Thing that pleases God
Colossians 1
9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;
10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;
12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
We need to really understand what the word of God is.
The word of God is God himself, the word of God is Jesus. It was the word of God that became Jesus to save man. The only thing, treasure that God has is His word. The bible says; the word became flesh and dwelt among men.
John 1:14
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The bible even also address Jesus as the almighty God, the everlasting Father, and the prince of peace.
For he received from God the Father honor and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Jesus is the word of God, the only begotten of the father, the only property God has, the only son God is well pleased..
If God looks at any man’s face, it is because of Jesus, it is through Jesus. Outside Jesus, no man , nothing means anything to God. It is only because of Jesus that we all could have access or smell where God is again. No man could ever be alive if not because of Jesus.
If God ever smile back at you, it is because of Jesus, never because you did anything worthy of that. The bible says our righteousness is as filthy racks, no matter how good we try to be, it amount to nothing outside Jesus. There is no way you can please God outside Jesus, no matter how good you are.
There is no level of any man’s goodness that can attract God outside Jesus. The reason is that, if not for Jesus, God had regretted ever making man. And the next thing would have been the destruction of the entire human race.
So you see that Jesus is everything, and Jesus is the word of God. It means it was the word that saved man, the word is the only thing God has, the word is God, God can only be pleased with the word, and evidently God can only be pleased with himself.
The only thing that can make God to be pleased with you is when God discovers you are loaded with his word, it is the word of God in you that pleases God.
God trust his word more than your ability to pray, more than your ability to render service. What we do not understand is that the word of God is everything.
The entire kingdom of God is the word of God. The bible says;
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Leave every other thing first and seek just the word, seek for knowledge first, build your faith first. This is who you are, this is your life, build it first. This is your foundation, if you do not get this right, nothing else will stand, and they will all crumble. Without filling your life with the understanding of God’s word, you do not have foundation.
Any house without a foundation cannot stand, it will surely crumble.
1 Corinthians 3:8-10(KJV)
8 Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.
9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God’s husbandry, ye are God’s building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
We are all God’s building, and the foundation is the word of God.
You are not wrong if you say the word of God is God, truly, the word of God is God. God himself honors’ his word more than his name. The word of God is the wisdom of God, the word of God is the power of God.
Hence the only thing God can be pleased with is himself which is his word or Jesus, they are all the same thing.
If you want God to be pleased with you, simply fulfilled Colossians 1: 9-10

Doing any service in the house of God to any level cannot please God. The only thing that makes God happy or please with you is when you are filled with the knowledge of his will (light, revelation of His word).
When you are worshipping, the presence of God comes down because God inhabits the praises of his people, it does not necessarily mean, he is pleased or happy.
This means whenever God takes a gaze at His word, he is happy
It is the spiritual understanding of God words that makes you worthy of God into all pleasing i.e. as you have this spiritual understanding; it makes God happy, it makes you fruitful.
Colossians 1: 9 -10

You are not just to be filled with the knowledge of God’s word but in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.
Our lifestyle pleases God when we live according to the dictates of his word. Any life you live outside of the dictates and principles of God’s word is disgusting, even to God himself, not to talk of the angels.
Spiritual understanding is the daily lifestyle, the existence, the routine, the standard of living, the daily life of God.
The exact knowledge of these is what gives us edge over everything in life.
For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe.
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
The Word of God is the Only source of Fruitfulness
I do not mean having one million dollars in your account, building houses, acquiring cars. God’s level of fruitfulness for his sons is never in second class, it is what eyes has never seen nor ear heard, it beats imaginations, no one would ever think of God.
God has no limitation on the level of fruitfulness for his sons. That is why the bible says. It is unto you according to your faith. Whichever level your faith can carry, you will be there.
And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.
And faith is according to the level of acquisition of the knowledge of the word. God’s covenant of fruitfulness is strictly based on the level of light or revelation acquired from his word. It is not giving. Giving without faith, giving without light, giving without understanding is fruitlessness.
If you give with high level of understanding and faith applied, then there is no limit to the fruitfulness of that which you gave. It is simply measured to us according to our faith. If it is according to our faith, then why not leave everything and acquire the faith. It means faith is the most important factor in fruitfulness.
It is your faith that will determine how much you will give. How much you give can never determine your faith. So do not rush to give, stay on faith, forget giving. You cannot help but give when there is faith for it, but no matter how much you give, it changes nothing when there is no faith for it to yield.
Faith is never gotten from anywhere else than the word of God. So stay on the word, eat the word, drink the word, sleep with word, and wake up with it. Spend at least 3 to 5 hours a day studying the word of God. Ask God for the spirit of revelation, spirit of understanding, always ask the Holy Spirit to come and teach you the word whenever you are studying it.
Once you are born again, this is the next and only thing you need in life to progress, if you care about fruitfulness, this is the one and only thing you need in life.
Many of us do not care about what we need, but what we want. We often think the first thing we need in life is a university degree to work and earn a living from there. This is what you want, but never the first thing you need.
I challenge you to give the word of God full time studies and earn your first degree in life from it before you think of the one from any university. I wish you understand that the success of that first degree program is what determines how successful you will be in the second one. The first one is what you need, the second one is what you want. It is completely lack of faith to do this otherwise.
We seriously do not understand who the word of God is, and the most or crucial part of it is that God has buried himself in his word for anyone who cares to find him.
John 1:14
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Many people are fasting to get God’s attention, many are praying every day, many soak themselves in the service area, all to get God’s attention for blessing, one way or the other, but believe me, no doubt, they are experiencing frustration, many do not understand again, they do not know which one to hang on.
Where will your prayer go without faith, where will your fasting go without faith? As your faith increases, the need for prayer reduces, you will be praying less with more faith, you will be fasting less with more faith.
Believe me all you need in life is much more of the spiritual understanding of the word of God which is God himself. I challenge any man under the sun, if you think there is any other means that you can get God to live in you with prove, apart from staying in the light of his word which is revelation or spiritual understanding, let such an one come out and we do the prove.
There is what people call anointing which some people get it by impartation, this is part of the miraculous, wisdom can be imparted, it is the same thing like someone praying for you and you got healed, even people who are not born again can be healed by God.
That is why Jesus said, miracles are for children, it is children’s bread. It is very different from you sitting on the revelation of God’s word, building God in your system. It proves the power of doing anything with understanding.
Faith increases. As your understanding increases with knowledge, faith increase, and your spiritual authority equally increases. Spiritual authority decides the level of dominion you have. The earth was for man to dominate, it was made for man. And since God’s intention was to create man for himself; it means the earth was made for the sons of God to rule.
God gave the earth to Adam as his son. Adam was of God, was created for God. God was always coming down to communicate with him. Adam live of the breadth of God.
It was just like God reproducing himself, therefore Adam was born of God before the fall, therefore God created the earth specifically for his sons, not for devils and his allies. You cannot allow Satan to rule you, dominate you, and manipulate you on earth for any reason, except you do not know your right.
I am not talking about dominion in one area, being fruitful in one area, no.
Genesis 1:28
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
If God wants to make you fruitful, it can never be financially alone. It will be all round fruitfulness. I am not talking about miracle, you can have a miracle of fruitfulness, just like someone might have miracle of healing. I mean all round generational impact fruitfulness.

10 That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
Abraham
God told Abraham, in you shall all the families of the earth be blessed. That means no one shall be blessed if not through Abraham’s blessings, never ending blessing.
And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them.
Two thousand years after, people are still experiencing it. Look through Isaac, you will see the blessing, Jacob experienced it, joseph, David, Solomon.
Genesis 17:5-7
King James Version
5 Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
6 And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
7 And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
Miracle is a momentary thing, your son may not experience the same thing after you. Miracle is never God’s plan for his children because miracle is never an inheritance. Miracle is a special intervention by God due to certain ignorance, disobedience. If you are healed, it is never God’s plan for you to be sick.
If you happen to go on a fast or special prayer by a man of God for you to get a contract, this is never the will of God for you. You never supposed to go on a fast or special prayer to be offered for you to get to the top. The top is supposed to be your natural heritage without any prayer as a son.
Why must you need special intervention to use any of your father’s property if you are grown?
Verse 1o says
Being fruitful in every good work, this is naturally being fruitful in all that you do. This is inheritance, and it is earned generationally. The condition is simply being filled with the knowledge of his will
Fruitfulness is another word for being filled in the knowledge of his will. Therefore once you are filled in the knowledge of his will, you are naturally being fruitful without any prayer or fasting.
The word of God is everything, the word created the entire universe, the word of God is the power of God. You do not need any other power apart from the word. God himself does not rely on any other power apart from his word. If you think you can have Jesus with prove without the word, show up with your prove. I do not mean confession.
Jesus cannot be in you and you are being pressed at night, Jesus cannot be in your life and you do not have food to eat. Does Jesus starve people? Stop deceiving yourself, demons are kicking you around and all you know is to confess that you have Jesus. How can Jesus be in you and nothing changes? Jesus is the word and the word of God is the power of God.
The word of God is live, it brings dead things to life, it rejuvenates, it resuscitates, so do not tell me Jesus is in you and no glory? Impossible.
Where the word of a king is, there is power.

Benefits of Spiritual Understanding;
This means spiritual understanding of the word has a lot to play in GOD answering your prayers; because you are fruitful even in your prayers that you pray with your spiritual understanding.
Your prayers are supposed to be speaking the mind of God. This is why the bible says we should always pray in the spirit; allowing the Holy Spirit to take over and do the prayers on our behalf.
This is the best way to pray the mind of God.
You need spiritual understanding to be able to offer prayers that will be answered. God is spirit; you can’t pray in the flesh and expect an answer from the spirit. The flesh profits nothing.
- Spiritual understanding also give you strength, might, give you power, it though your system with the fruits of the spirit – love, joy, peace, longsuffering. Spiritual understanding also delivers the inheritance of the servant to you
- Colo. 3:16 when the bible says let the words of God dwell in you richly, it does not mean the letters, nor quoting to be able say it exactly the way it is written. Note that it says… richly in all wisdom. The wisdom here means spiritual understanding of the word of God.
You should know that the word of God is the wisdom of God. Any time the bible makes reference to wisdom that is from God, it is referring to the word of God. The only wisdom God has is his word.
Since it was the word of God that became Jesus to save man, so Jesus is also the wisdom of God. People make a lot of confession even in songs claiming to love Jesus so much. A lot of songs that inspire so much on this subject; Jesus I love you, Jesus for me, all I have is Jesus.
Please we all need to go back to the basics, back to the originality of Jesus. Jesus is the word. If you do not know the word, you do not know Jesus, if you do not love the word, you do not love Jesus, if you do not have the word, you do not have Jesus.
Wisdom is the application of knowledge. It will be very difficult to apply the knowledge you do not understand correctly.
This is the same thing as saying let the spiritual understanding or light or revelation of God’s word dwell in you richly.
Colo. 39 – he not one to another seeing that ye here put off the old man with his deeds
- When you got born again, you put off the old man with his deeds – which is the sin nature, nature of Adam.
This happens automatically once you accept Christ into your life, the new nature of Christ will immediately replace the old one.
- V10 saying and have put on the new man which is revealed after knowledge.
The bible says Jesus is the complete exact image, carbon copy of God. Once you got born again, you automatically assumed the image of God.
You may not notice that change immediately because that was completely a spiritual change, but with time it will gradually show off in the physical.
What your spirit experienced is a complete perfect spiritual turn around to assume the image of Christ.
But your physical being; the mind, intellect, tongue, the character transformation will take their turn gradually.
Now you have to start working toward that perfect image of Christ physically by undergoing a daily renewal of what you initially assumed using the word of God.
*Spiritual understanding also help you to conform to the image of Christ
Another word that we can use interchangeably with renewal is conformation to what you are looking forward to be like, to arrive at the perfect image of Christ.
And the tool God has given you which I call TOOL OF CONFORMATION is knowledge (which is spiritual understanding of Gods words or revelation or light).
Genesis 1 says; and God said let us make man in our own image, the image of God the father, son and the Holy Spirit. I.e. God the father, son, and Holy Spirit had a meeting to take this decision.
Adam was made in a perfect and complete image of Christ (which is a total complete representation of God head (trinity) but sin striped man of that image, and completely replace that image with that of sin.
This means the devil actually deceived man to give man his(the devil’s) own nature which is sin. Note that the devil told Eve, if she eats the fruit, she will be like God.
Eve was already like God, but the lack of that understanding that she was already like God was her downfall, that was where the devil capitalized on. This is still another proof that knowledge and understanding is the key.
In Eve’s mind, she will be like God after eating the fruit. But when eve ate the fruit, she rather assumed the image of the devil which is sin consciousness.
Eve remembered very well that God had warned them never to eat the fruit. But I am sure she never understood that instruction given by God. That was why she messed up.
Jesus simply came to restore back to man the image or nature that God gave to man, hence when you accept Jesus as your lord and savior; you simply gain the potential or you automatically become a candidate to be like God again or enter the complete class of this image.
You cannot automatically be like God once you are born again because your mind has not been renewed. Born again is an automatic spiritual transformation of the spirit and not, hence your spirit can now have access to God.
Your spirit can talk to God directly or communicate with God. It means your spirit is now made alive to God.
It means you are now a son of God, but you can never be like God until your mind is renewed to think like God, and the tool for mind renewal is staying on the word of God with the spirit of revelation and the spirit of understanding.
Because you are now born again, you can ask God for the spirit of revelation and understanding and God will give you. And the essence of those two spirits is for the acquisition of the knowledge of the word of God which is the process of mind renewal.
Mind renewal is never a miracle but a conscious process you must steadily embark on till your mind is completely renewed to think like God.
