Man in the image of God is not a coincidence, it was done with a purpose. The love God has for man is the bases of the relationship between God and man. If you know and understand how much God loves you, then you will never need to ask the question “Why God Created Man in His Own Image”,
What Does Image Mean
image mean carbon copy of another, with the same mode of operation, if God is powerful, man was created to be powerful too.
The Image Of God
If God is love, man was created to be love too. Whatever God can do, man was created to do the same. Whoever God is, man was created to be the same. exact carbon copy of God himself. You can use this to define the extent to which God loves man.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
If God is spirit, man too is spirit. It means man was created to have all the attributes of God. There is no way man can be flesh and blood because God is not flesh and blood.
Why God Created Man in His Own Image – Man and the image of God
God too can put on flesh just like man as Jesus did and dwelt among men. When the spirit attains the status of flesh, it does not lose his composition. Same composition, same attribute, same mode of operation as if it was completely a spirit.
God is immortal, and God created man in his own image. Adam was created to be immortal, even though he was wearing flesh; even with the flesh, man was created to be immortal, it means the flesh does not have the power to limit the spirit because immortality is a spiritual attribute of the spirit.
Why God Created Man in His Own Image – What does the image of God mean
People often ask the question Why God Created Man in His Own Image. Once the life of God enters mortality, mortality turns immortal automatically. When God enters anywhere, everything in that surrounding is influenced by the attributes of God. Things that were death automatically becomes life.
The spirit of God carries eternal life, and whatever it enters, automatically becomes eternal. Once sin entered Adam, the nature of God left, it means God himself left Adam that was why mortality took over.
St. John 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
When the word became flesh, the flesh automatically becomes eternal.The flesh automatically took color from the word to prove the supremacy of God over anything. Do you know that flesh could not decay after it was killed. It came back to life after 3 days.
It is not as if they overpowered the flesh to killed. The flesh willingly gave himself to die to fulfill prophecy, and after 3 days he woke up all by himself.
St. John 10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep
The same body that died (sleep) is the same body that resurrected; when they went to the grave, they did not see a body there.
This means eternal life can only sleep and wake up when it want to; it can never disintegrate or degenerate.
It has full control of the system even in flesh form.
The bible says he surrendered himself and at a point slept when he wanted to, and woke up when he wanted.
Effect of Sin on The Image
We must be careful, the introduction of what cannot be part of the system makes the system to malfunction or not be itself anymore. This is exactly what happened to Adam.
This is what sin does.
Even then, do you know, on the resurrection, peoples body that were dead (same body) will come together, bone to bone, flesh to flesh, marrow to marrow.
They will all come together and the man will jerk back to live, but the body will be transfigured to become immortal
When sin entered, it tampered with the spiritual part of man hence man was disconnected from God, and because there was an issue with the spirit, it affected the body. This is how sin brought death.
The image and your Spiritual life
If there was an issue with the body, the spirit will fix it automatically. The spirit is the foundation. If the foundation be destroyed, what can the righteous do? This particular aspect answers the question “Why God Created Man in His Own Image
Giving more or most attention to your spirit man is of utmost importance. The spirit drives the body just as the spiritual drives the physical. Do not play with the spiritual.
Your strong spirit will fix all of your physical issues. Your body is dead without your spirit.
Do not rush to eat in the morning. Take time to pray and study your bible first, the spirit grows which means it eats food; If it starves, it is stunted, weak, and subject to punishment and oppression.
When the spirit eats enough, you are on top of the world, you dominate.
If eating too much oppresses the spirit, cut down eating too much of physical food.
Physical food is for your flesh, the flesh fights the spirit, when you starve the flesh, and it is weak, then your spirit can eat, and assimilate well because the flesh is too weak to fight or oppress it.
Pay more attention to your spirit because your spirit is your life.
St. John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
This means the word of God is your life, and the word of God is your spiritual food.
Believe me this life is not only for your spirit but also for your flesh, the more you eat it, the livelier you are
How well you eat this spiritual food determines the extent to which you fulfill your destiny.
If this is your life, then you need to give it attention, quality time per day. If you put just two hours into studying the word per day, you will be surprised where your life be in 3 months.
Both Male and Female Carries Same Image
Both male and female were created to be like God; If a man was created to be like God, operate like God live like God, so was the women too.
The women carries exactly the same image, same power, and same spiritual authority, never inferior.
The only difference here is that the women was created to submit to the man willingly.
This command, authority or levels of operation is from God.
Note that submitting does not mean the man will be wiser, stronger, have more power.
Never mean the man should victimize the woman.
Remember the man was to love while the woman submit. If one submit, the other fail to love, there is problem. If one love and the other fail to submit problem.
And in God’s jurisdiction, both of them will suffer the consequence.
Hence if your wife fail in her duty all you can do or best is to pray for God to change her and restore the family.
What God has instituted here is a covenant you don’t break covenant without suffering consequences.
