The subject of love is most critical, this is the most important subject. If you understand and practice this, then you are free forever. Understanding the love of God can only be achieved the bible.
The love of God can only be understood through the word of God. We just have to follow God’s pattern and instruction to love. The word of God is God.
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour. But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
It must be the same way you love yourself.
There are people that does not love themselves. You must first be able to love yourself before you can love another. If you hate yourself, it will be difficult to love another person.
You love your neighbor the same way you love yourself, this is the bible specification, it must not be more or less. If you eat fried rice, you must give your neighbor fried rice. You cannot eat fried rice and give your neighbor garri to drink; this is not the love of God.
This is applicable even to even your enemies. This sounds hard but it is God’s standard for love. Don’t just love your children, do good to other people’s children.
Unless we keep to this standard, we will live in disobedience, and no one should tell me it affect nothing. There is the law of seed time and harvest applicable here
The love of God
According to the bible, we love unconditionally, the knowledge on how to love is completely taken from the word of God, and God’s specification is unconditional love. Whether the person is appealing to you or not, you must love.
Whether the person is related or unrelated, ugly or beautiful, tall or short, slim or fat, black or white; you must love, even if the person is your enemy.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
The first love of God
The first love of God you experience is when you got born again. This was your salvation. This is what Jesus who is God, came down from heaven, took the form of man with humility and died on the cross for the salvation of every human.
This was sacrifice and Jesus was showing us example of how we should love. If you are to walk in the love of God, you must be ready to sacrifice. Love is sacrifice, selfless service.
Understanding the love of God can also be seen in 1corinthians 13;
13 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity
I believe all the mystery about understanding the love of God is buried in the above chapter of the bible.
So it is possible to understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and have all the faith and that faith move mountains, yet there is no love. I never knew a believer can get to this level without having the love of God.
Faith is gotten through knowledge and understanding of mysteries. I thought God will not allow you to access his power without walking in his love, but by this chapter of the bible, you can.
It means you can be great man of God with healing, signs and wonders everywhere, you speak and God will confirm instantly, you prophecy and the sun will stand still, yet no love of God in you.
Love of God is not imparted, you must study, understand and practice it consciously. We do not pray to have the love of God, it is not a gift of the spirit.
You consciously must have to do research, study, understand it in the bible and practice same as a life style.
So you can give all you have to the poor and to the work of God, and yet not out of God’s love. If this can happen, then this subject is not just critical but too sensitive.
Therefore we have to be very careful in understanding the love of God. But there are guides in the above chapter of the bible, that’s why we must study it line by line.
To do something out of sacrifice also mean you did it expecting no gain, you did it with the consciousness that you will not gain anything. If you are doing anything out of love, you will do it without wanting any gain.
Even if you are tom be rewarded, you will reject it because you are doing it out of love. Bishop David Oyedepo is one preacher in this world that I have watched loving God withal his heart.
God of heaven bless him more and forever because he has blessed my heart. with this subject. I saw and learned raw love of God with that man of God. There is hardly any of his message that the love of God will not be preached.
If he did not start the message with it, he will end the message with it, emphasizing time and again that the love for God is his secret why he has gone this far.
I have watched and listened to him for decades and its time I get this spirit. It is not imparted, I repeat, it is not a gift, but the moment you understand the subject, you repent and are ready to take it up, practicing it, God will furnish you with the grace for the course.
That is what I mean by getting the spirit. God is faithful.
It is the love for God that will make a man to resign from his job, carry his bible and be preaching to people from house to house without thinking of what he will eat or feed his family.
At this point, even if you are not there, you should be close to loving God with all your heart. This is loving God without reservation.
If you love God to this extent, it will be very easy to love another man without struggle, the love of God will cheaply flow.
You need to study the above chapter verse by verse to deeply understand the love of God.
According to the above chapter in the bible, whatever you do that is not out of love equals nothing, it profits nobody including God and you, it is useless, it is as good as you did nothing.
Anything you do that is not in love, you are wasting your time. If your prayer is not out of love, God will not answer. Even in your obedience, it has to be out of love.
The more you spend time with the word, the more you spend time with God. The more you stay with God, the more his love rob off on you.
There is nothing like spending time with the understanding of God’s word, the revelation of God’s word; this is the tangibility of Christianity, the bedrock, the foundation in God.
The more you understand God’s word, the more you understand God and his love, subsequently, the deeper you grow in the love of God. The entire bible is based on the love of God.
You cannot reject Jesus. You were created by Jesus for Jesus. God created you for himself. To reject Jesus is to rebel against God. Jesus is your life, to reject Jesus is to reject your life. Give your life to Jesus today; accept Jesus into your heart and be born of God now, it may be late after now!!!!! Do not postpone. Please follow this steps to obey God now.
