The question (How to find God) looks odd because no man can think of where to find a spirit. God used to come down and communicate with Adam from time to time. God himself knows it is impossible for man to imagine where he will be to locate.
This is the same thing like asking where heaven is. because most of us know God to be or live in heaven. Well, if you ask me the question, I will tell you, only God knows where he is. It means only him can tell you where and how to find him.
It is possible to find God in the first place, even though he is spirit. How to find God and where to find God is clearly stated almost everywhere in the bible, by God himself. God has given us precise instruction on how to locate him and where to locate him.
I suppose, only those who are not born of God yet will ask this question, I do not expect believers to ask this question because as a son of God, you suppose to know where your father is. You suppose to communicate with him on a daily bases because once you are born again, God lives in your heart.
Why we need to find God
Your spirit was dead because of Adam’s fall. Once Adam failed, every human spirit was dead to God.
3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
It means it was cut off from God. Naturally spirit cannot die, except when God will destroy them after judgement. Therefore human spirit dying does not mean destruction but it means the spirit is cut off from God, no more communication with God.
Once a spirit cannot communicate with God again; it is dead to God, and when the communication link exist again, then the spirit is made alive to God. God was always coming down to communicate with Adam, but that communication link between God and man was broken immediately after the fall of Adam.
How to find God
For you to find God, the communication link between man and God that was broken when Adam fail would have to be created again and the only person that act as the link now is JESUS. Therefore Jesus is the only answer to the question; how to find God?
The only route you can take to find God is to accept that Jesus is lord and believe that he died on the cross to save you, then you make up your mind to repent as a sinner and ask Jesus to come and live in your heart as your lord and savior.
This is regeneration, this is how you can be a new man, this is how you can be born of God, and this is how you can be born again. Simple; believe in the lord Jesus, repent as a sinner, ask Jesus to forgive you and live in your heart as your lord and savior.
No man can find God without passing through Jesus. Anybody who told you he found God that never believed in Jesus is a liar. The link between God and man was completely cut off after the fall of Adam, and can only be restored through Jesus.
JOHN 14: 4-12 – K.J.V
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
God will never manifest himself to you except he sees Jesus in you. No man that is not righteous can appear before God, and the only righteousness God will accept is the righteousness of Jesus. So when you repent and believe in Jesus and Jesus lives in your heart, automatically, Jesus will transfer his own righteousness to you, then this is the only way God can accept you as his son.
You will never find God except Jesus lives in you, this is salvation
JOHN 3:1-6 – K.J.V
3 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.
3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
You cannot see God with your physical eyes, you can only see and communicate with God as a spirit. God himself can only communicate with your spirit, not your mind.
What does God living in you mean?
God living in you means God living in your spirit. When the bible says God lives in your heart, your heart there means your spirit. God is a spirit and has nothing to do with your flesh whatsoever. If God blesses you, it will come through your spirit.
This is why you just have to be spiritually minded to make effective relationship with God
No natural man can understand the things of the spirit, because they are spiritually discerned. It does not mean after you are born again or born of God you will be turned to a spirit. It simply mean your spirit man will be quickened, ma

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.
9 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
10 And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Therefore once you are born of God, you are a spirit, then you and God can see, outside that never. God does not give children’s bread to dogs.
How to find God is not hard, but you must be born of God first, you must be born again first. Your spirit that was dead has to be quickened or made alive to God before the communication link between you and God can be active again. It was dead after Adam’s fall.
In case you are not born of God yet, you cannot reject Jesus. You were created by Jesus for Jesus. God created you for himself. To reject Jesus is to rebel against God. Jesus is your life, to reject Jesus is to reject your life. Give your life to Jesus today; accept Jesus into your heart and be born of God now, it may be late after now!!!!! Do not postpone.
